I graduated college in August and decided to move here to teach English. This is my first time living outside of the states. I will try to post here regularly with whats going on in my life. Don’t judge me when 90% of my posts are about me getting drunk off Thai Whiskey and beer.

FOOTBALL YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

So I was thinking today about all of the NFL greats that I have seen play in person. Off the top of my head this is the list:

Jerry Rice
Steve Young
John Elway
Terrell Davis
Troy Aikman
Michael Irvin
Emmitt Smith
Barry Sanders
Herman Moore
Brett Favre
Randall Cunningham
Chris Carter
Randy Moss
Michael Vick (In arguably his best game as a pro vs. Denver)

Warren Sapp
John Lynch
Keyshawn Johnson (one of the most underrated receivers IMO)
Derrick Brooks
Ronde Barber

1999 Rams ‘Greatest Show on Turf’ which included:

Kurt Warner
Marshall Faulk
Isaac Bruce
Torry Holt
Orlando Pace (I know he was a lineman, but he was a beastly lineman)

LaDainian Tomlinson
Steve Atwater
Marcus Allen
Tim Brown
Terrell Owens
Drew Bledsoe (not necessarily great, but good)
Antonio Freeman
Dorsey Levens
Reggie White
Charles Hayley
Ben Coats
Shannon Sharpe
Rod Woodson

Players I would love to see:

Larry Fitzgerald
Chris Johnson
Adrian Peterson
Patrick Willis
Peyton Manning

When I was young my dad used to take me to San Francisco as a birthday/Xmas present to see the 49ers play.  We also went to St. Louis (shithole) to see the Bucs play the Rams.   In 2000 we had season tickets to the Broncos their last year at Mile High.

I’ve been pretty damn fortunate !

Songkran Festival

Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year festival since the former time. It is a celebration that embraces goodwill, love, compassion, and thankfulness, using water as the means of expression.”

I’ve been in Thailand over 7 months now and I would say that at least 80% of the Thai people I meet ask me if I have ever been to Songkran.  It’s a huge deal out here.  For three days the entire city participates in a massive water fight.  The city I am in (Chiang Mai) is supposed the be the #1 spot for Songkran.  Should be pretty ridiculous and it lasts 3 days   Here is a link with some pics:

This is not Thailand

I was in my room listening to music and heard two loud bangs outside my window.  They scared the crap out of me because they were so loud.  I didn’t think much of it since the kids down the way light off fireworks on a regular basis.  A few minutes later I heard a woman in hysterics so I went downstairs.  There was a woman laying motionless in the middle of the road, surrounded by a pool of blood.  Her back was facing me but it was obvious she was dead.  A couple of minutes later the police arrived and taped everything off.  I didn’t realize at first but she was also holding a baby.  Luckily the woman managed to save the babies life by (I’m assuming) turning her back towards the gunman.

After about another 10 minutes some journalists appeared and starting taking pictures of her.  They were allowed to take photos inches away from her dead body.  They will most likely be published in the paper tomorrow.

The worst part of the entire event was when a friend or family member of this woman showed up and completely lost it.

Who the hell shoots a woman with a baby in her hands? what a coward
